NAOKO TAKADA CONCERTO MALLETS
Encore Mallets is proud to present our new NAOKO TAKADA CONCERTO
MALLETS. Created in conjunction with the internationally acclaimed
marimbist Naoko Takada, the NT series was designed for enhanced
articulation and projection on the marimba, with large ensemble
playing in mind. These mallets provide the artist with the necessary
bar definition and volume to cut through any ensemble, while still
maintaining a rich and tonally balanced sound.
The NT Concerto Mallets feature custom-made latex cores wrapped with
durable, U.S.- made cotton yarn. The latex cores bring out the
fundamental pitch of the marimba bar, while the cotton yarn increases
articulation and audibility of high-end harmonics. This combination
produces a clear, distinct tone that is simultaneously bright and full
of "low end." All NT Concerto Mallets also feature high-density cores
for a heavier feel and increased projection. The shafts of NT birch
mallets are raw (unfinished) for maximum grip and control.
Whether used in ensemble or solo performances, the NT series will
provide artists the means to effortlessly communicate emotion with
clarity and boldness.
